The foundation of Punjab’s victory was laid by Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya. Together they scored 116 runs in the first 6 overs, which was the second highest powerplay score in the history of IPL. Prabhasimran scored 76 runs in 26 balls, while Priyansh contributed 43 runs in 17 balls. At one time, Punjab had lost three wickets within 19 runs in the middle overs. Captain Shreyas Iyer stood firm at one end and played a historic inning of 71 runs in 36 balls, leading Punjab to victory.
