Praful hinge hero: Praful Hinge gave victory to Sunrisers Hyderabad by brilliantly defending 18 runs in the last over. CSK team could not chase the target of 195 runs and lost the match. This is Hyderabad’s third win in six matches while this is Chennai’s fourth defeat in six matches.

Hyderabad defeated Chennai by 10 runs in the last over.
New Delhi. A match was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings, which stopped the heartbeats of the spectators. When the last over started, Chennai needed 18 runs to win and the ball fell into the hands of Prafulla Hinge. This over was no less than a litmus test for Prafulla, because before this he had proved to be very expensive in his 3 overs. After giving 3 runs on the first two balls, Prafulla bowled a no-ball on the third ball. The equation now stood at 14 runs in 4 balls and a free-hit. Even under that mountain of pressure, Prafulla did not lose his composure. The next ball was a perfect yorker on which only 1 run came.
The real thrill came in 19.4 overs, when Praful Hinge dashed Chennai’s hopes by getting Jamie Overton (16 runs) caught by Liam Livingstone. He gave only 2 runs on the last two balls and gave Hyderabad a memorable win by 10 runs. With this victory, Hyderabad has now reached fourth position in the points table with 6 points. Batting first, Hyderabad scored a huge score of 194/9 in 20 overs. In reply, Chennai team could score only 184/8 runs in 20 overs. Prafulla Hinge took 1 important wicket for 60 runs in his quota of 4 overs, but his last over proved to be the turning point of the match. With this defeat, Chennai’s winning streak of two consecutive matches also came to an end.

For CSK, Matthew Short scored the highest score of 34 runs while Ayush Mhatre was out after scoring 30 runs. Sarfaraz Khan contributed 25 runs while Dewald Brevis’s account also did not open. Sanju Samson was out after scoring seven runs with the help of a six. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad played an inning of 19 runs.
Earlier, despite a brilliant start by Abhishek Sharma (59 runs), Hyderabad team could only score 194 runs for 9 wickets in front of the sharp bowling of CSK fast bowlers Jamie Overton and Anshul Kamboj. Barring the half-centuries of Abhishek and Heinrich Klaasen (59 runs), Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batting unit succumbed to the CSK bowlers. CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and decided to bowl. Abhishek (22 balls) completed another half-century in 15 balls, making it seem that Gaikwad’s decision had backfired.
But left-arm fast bowler Mukesh Chaudhary (two wickets for 21 runs in two overs), who usually proves to be a bit expensive, gave a huge blow by dismissing Travis Head (23 runs in 20 balls) and captain Ishan Kishan (0) on the last two balls of the powerplay. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s score suddenly increased from 75 runs without any loss in 5.4 overs to 75 runs for two wickets after six overs. CSK was looking for this opportunity. The overs after the power play were very difficult for the Sunrisers Hyderabad batsmen in which only Klaasen (39 balls) completed another half-century and helped the team take its score close to 200.
Overton (3 wickets for 37 runs) and Kamboj (3 wickets for 22 runs) bowled brilliantly in the middle and last overs and kept the host team in complete control. If Sunrisers Hyderabad had not lost four wickets in four and a half overs, they could have easily scored 225 to 230 runs. After ten overs, the team’s score became 112 runs for four wickets. Wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson’s cricketing acumen also came in handy for the team. He appealed for a review against Abhishek on a short ball by Overton, which proved to be one of the decisions that changed the course of the match.
For CSK, the bowling of Overton’s length and Noor Ahmed (no wicket for 33 runs in four overs) did not give Klaasen and other batsmen a chance to play freely. Indian batsmen like Nitish Reddy (12) and uncapped players like Aniket Verma and Salil Arora could not increase the run rate, due to which all the pressure came on Klaasen. Kamboj cannot be praised enough, he has now become expert in bowling fast wide yorkers from ’round the wicket’ and on one such ball, Klaasen was bowled. Gurjapneet Singh also bowled 12 dot balls which increased the troubles of the host team. Sunrisers Hyderabad team could score only 40 runs in the last five overs.
