New Delhi. There is less than a week left for the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. All ten franchises are busy finalizing their planning. Through training sessions and practice matches, the teams are working on their weaknesses before entering the 19th edition of the tournament. All the teams are looking for their best playing eleven. Sports experts are busy making their predictions regarding the possible lineup of the teams. Former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has also selected the playing eleven of Rajasthan Royals.
On his YouTube channel, Ashwin chose the probable playing eleven of Rajasthan Royals. While telling the names of the players, he did not give place to Tushar Deshpande in the team. RR has spent a total of Rs 6.5 crore to add this player to the team.
Ashwin said, “I expect Shimron Hetmyer to bat in the top four. The way he batted in the T20 World Cup 2026. He should be in the top four. Give the responsibility of finishing to Donovan Ferreira and Ravindra Jadeja. I hope they will do that. RR has almost all the options. I think RR has many options in the playing eleven.”

Shanaka can be Sam Curran's replacement
According to ESPNcricinfo, Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka is set to replace injured Sam Curran for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026. Shanaka has informed Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars about this. The formalities of this change are currently being completed.
Rajasthan Royals will start their IPL campaign against five-time champions Chennai Super Kings on March 30 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. After CSK, RR will face Gujarat Titans on April 4 and then Mumbai Indians on April 7, followed by a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 10.
