IPL 2026 PKBS Vs LSG: Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer said after the victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 match here on Sunday that the second wicket partnership between Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly was excellent.
With half-centuries from Priyansh (93 runs) and Connolly (87 runs) and a 182-run partnership between them for the second wicket, Punjab Kings continued their winning campaign with a 54-run victory.

Iyer said after the match, ‘The partnership between the two was excellent, some shots were mind-blowing. Making fast bowlers go on the back-foot and hit straight shots. The kind of restraint both of them showed in the middle overs was tremendous.

He said, ‘I was talking to Cooper and Arya, I said let’s see who hits the most sixes. You will get my bat as a reward. It may sound strange. But hopefully this will bring happiness to all of us.
Iyer said, “I believe that when you let players play the way they want, they perform at their best. This is our basic mantra. I don’t tell them how to play their innings. They have their own set method. Coach Ricky Ponting encourages the players just before the match, I also say a few things from my side. Then the boys come on the field and show their magic.
He said, ‘Most of our bowlers are of international level and have a lot of experience. We already have plans ready against certain batsmen, we just have to implement them properly. They just should not be careless under any circumstances.

Punjab Kings remain on top of the table with 11 points from five wins out of six matches. This is LSG’s third consecutive defeat.
