Pakistan could not live up to the expectations even in this World Cup. The team could not even qualify for the semi-finals. Had to face a shameful one-sided defeat from India. The Pakistan Cricket Board, which was threatening to boycott the match against India, had given a Tughlaq decree to impose a fine of 50 lakh Pakistani rupees on its players if they lost to India.

Australia and America get equal prize money

Scotland were given US $2,78,654 and Ireland were given US $2,71,731 while four other teams Italy, Netherlands, United Arab Emirates and Nepal were given US $2,56,154 each. Canada, Namibia and Oman were each given prize money of US$225,000. The ICC said that this prize money distribution reflects its continued efforts to increase financial incentives for players and strengthen the development of cricket in member countries.
