Gautam Gambhir and Vaibhav Suryavanshi

New Delhi: The Indian team was completely exposed in the five T20 match series on the England tour. Before this series against England, India was the number one team in this format, but after the 4-0 defeat, this crown was snatched from them. There was turmoil in Team India throughout the series. In a way, a game of musical chairs was being played in the Indian team on the instructions of coach Gautam Gambhir.

The result was that the team’s condition in both bowling and batting was poor. The limit reached when even the players’ careers were at stake due to the coach’s decision. If anyone is responsible for the defeat in this series against England, it is the coach of the team, because some of his decisions were such that they backfired.

Why is Gautam Gambhir the culprit of the defeat?

How to run a team completely depends on the coach. In modern day cricket, the coach has so much authority that during the break in the match, he goes to the field and gives tips to the players, but the question is, what was missing during the England tour that Team India had to feel embarrassed. The answer to this is haste and wrong decisions of the team management.

When Sanju Samson flopped in the first match on the England tour, he was dropped from the playing eleven. This is the same Sanju who made the team champion by single-handedly winning three consecutive knockout matches of the T20 World Cup this year. Sanju was dropped from the team and Vaibhav Suryavanshi was given the debut. Vaibhav should have been in the team, there is no strings attached to it, but the question is at what cost.

Vaibhav’s career was played with

15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi did everything for which he would have made his debut, but unfortunately his bat did not work in the debut series. Vaibhav could score only 13, 14 and 15 runs in three matches. Due to Vaibhav not playing in three consecutive matches, he was also dropped. If the team management wanted to do the same then why did it hurry up Vaibhav’s debut? Gautam Gambhir didn’t think about what effect it would have on a 15 year old child? Whether Vaibhav was dropped because of his form or due to immense pressure on social media regarding Sanju’s comeback, only Gautam Gambhir and his team will be able to answer this question, but whatever decision was taken was a complete blunder.

Gambhir should learn from England coach

Gautam Gambhir should also be blamed for Team India against England because they took wrong decisions one after the other in the entire series. Gambhir should learn from the management of England. Before this series against India, England’s Jos Buttler was struggling to score runs, but he was given continuous chances and in the last match he scored a century for his team.

Not only this, the question also arises whether it was necessary to drop Vaibhav Suryavanshi from the team. The Indian team had already lost the series, so couldn’t Vaibhav be tested in another match? As far as Sanju Samson is concerned, a player who has been sitting out of three matches and has no idea about his place in the team whether he will remain or not, is suddenly included in the playing eleven. In such a situation, Gautam Gambhir did not think about what kind of mental state that player would play in. There are many such questions which are going to sting Gautam Gambhir a lot.
