Oh my luck! Harsh Dubey’s name disappeared from the Test team as soon as the series changed, what is BCCI’s plan?

New Delhi: The Indian team has been announced for the two-Test series against Sri Lanka. The series is starting next month from 15th August. Almost the same team has been selected for this series which was for the only test against Afghanistan in June. Although Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna have returned to the team, Bumrah’s availability will depend on his fitness. Apart from this, there are three players who have been left out of the Test team. The names of Washington Sundar (not available for the first test), Nitish Reddy and Harsh Dubey are in it.

Saransh Jain has got a chance in place of Harsh

The only new face in the form of Saransh Jain has got a chance for the Test series against Sri Lanka. Now the question arises that why Harsh Dubey was dropped from the team. Actually, both Harsh and Saransh are spin bowling all-rounders. Both the players have shown strong performance for their respective home teams. In such a situation, it is possible that BCCI is planning to prepare Saransh for the Indian setup, as was done for Harsh Dubey.

On the other hand, Harsh probably did not get a chance to debut in the Test against Afghanistan because there was only one match and the Indian team had come on the field with its full strength. However, the chances of Saransh’s Test debut are high, as Sundar is not available for the first match due to injury. On the other hand, Jadeja has also returned, so it will be interesting to see what kind of playing eleven Shubman Gill takes the field with in Sri Lanka.
