IBPS PO recruitment 2026: There is big news for the candidates preparing for government jobs in the banking sector. There has been a big increase in the vacancy of Probationary Officer and Specialist Officer Recruitment 2026 in the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. According to the revised notification, a total of 8,400 posts will be appointed in both the recruitments. Today i.e. 21st July is the last chance to apply online for these recruitments. In such a situation, the candidates who have not applied yet can complete the application process without any delay.
Number of posts increased in revised vacancy
According to the revised vacancy list released by IBPS on July 20, the number of posts in PO recruitment has been increased from 6,715 to 7,365, i.e. a total of 650 new posts have been added. Whereas in Specialist Officer recruitment, the posts have been increased from 745 to 1035. In this way, a total of 940 new vacancies have been increased in both the recruitments.
How many vacancies in PO recruitment in which bank?
According to the revised list, Bank of Baroda has the maximum number of 1900 posts. After this, there are 1500 posts in Canara Bank, 1100 posts in Bank of Maharashtra, 650 posts in Indian Bank, 550 posts in Indian Overseas Bank, 500-500 posts in Bank of India and Central Bank of India, 504 posts in Punjab National Bank and 161 posts in Punjab and Sindh Bank. UK Bank and Union Bank of India have not yet reported their vacancies, so there is a possibility of vacancy increasing further. Apart from this, if we look at the category wise, then in IBPS PO recruitment, 2936 posts have been earmarked for general category, 2,015 for OBC, 1,131 for SC, 562 for ST and 721 for EWS. Reservation for PWBD category has been included among these persons.

Who can apply?
For IBPS PO recruitment, candidates must have a graduation degree in any subject from a recognized university. As per July 1, 2026, the age of the candidate should be between 20 to 30 years. Reserved category candidates will get relaxation in maximum age limit as per rules.
Selection Process and Last Date
Candidates will be selected on the basis of preliminary examination, main examination, personality test and interview. The preliminary examination will be held on 22 and 23 August, while the main examination is proposed on 4 October. The last date for online application for IBPS recruitment is today i.e. 21st July. To complete the application process, the candidate will have to visit the official website and register. After this the necessary documents will have to be uploaded and the application fee will have to be paid. To avoid technical problems at the last moment, candidates have been advised to apply as soon as possible.
