Google Maps Ask Feature: Google has introduced a major update in its Maps app in which users can now ask questions directly inside the app. The name of this new feature is Ask Maps which works with the help of Google Gemini. Along with this, the company has also introduced Immersive Navigation which makes the driving experience easier and visual than before.
Ask Maps: Now talk to maps
Through the new Ask Maps feature, users can now ask questions in simple language and will get intelligent answers through AI. A new button has been added to the app from where you can ask questions through text or voice. Now you will not only ask for directions but can also know whether it would be better to drive or take the metro at a particular time. Not only this, you can also get suggestions of good cafes or restaurants on the way.
Trip planning will also be easy
This feature is not limited to navigation only but also helps in your trip planning. If you are planning a trip or outing somewhere, then you can directly ask where you can get good food along with live matches. According to your question, AI can also bring out details like information about places, atmosphere, popular dishes and parking, which makes it easier to take decisions.
Suggestions as per your choice
One specialty of Ask Maps is that it understands your preferences. It gives new suggestions based on the places you have previously searched or saved. Suppose you often search for veg restaurants, then this feature will first show you similar options at new places. This makes your search more personal.
Immersive Navigation
Along with Ask Maps, Google has also launched Immersive Navigation, which is being said to be the biggest update in the last several years. Now while driving, you will get to see not only the map but also a 3D view of the surroundings. In this, even buildings, road structures and flyovers will be clearly visible, which will make it easier to understand the path.
After the new update, the app will also show you important information like lanes, traffic signals, crosswalks and stop signs at the right time. Apart from this, information about the upcoming turn or lane change will be available in advance, which will make driving more safe and comfortable.

Now Google Maps will also tell you the advantages and disadvantages of different routes. Like which route is faster but will cost toll or which is a little longer but has less traffic. Besides, information about road incidents like jams or accidents will also be available from time to time.
The update will gradually reach all users
Ask Maps feature has been launched for Android and iOS users in India and America. Currently it is available in English and Hindi support may also come soon. Whereas Immersive Navigation has currently started in America and in the coming time it will be made available in other countries also.
