Preparations are on to make major changes in CBSE Language Formula/Policy. According to sources, students of classes 7, 8 and 9 who are already studying foreign languages like French, German can be allowed to study the same language till class 10. This means that the new language policy will not be applicable to these students at present.
What decision had CBSE taken earlier?
In fact, on April 2, CBSE had announced the decision to implement the three-language formula from class 6 under the new education policy. After this, on May 15, the board made it clear that from this academic session it would be necessary for Class 9 students to study at least two Indian languages and preparations were on to implement it from July 1. After this, many schools also started making changes in their language system. He was even asked to appoint Sanskrit teachers and ask French teachers to teach another subject.
Now according to sources, the board may change its decision. Students already studying in classes 7, 8 and 9 will be allowed to complete their studies till class 10 with the old language system. The new system will be applicable only to the students taking admission in class 6 onwards. A senior CBSE official related to this matter said that if the students already studying are allowed to continue the old language system, then it will be in the interest of the students. He says that students who have been studying foreign languages like French and German for the last four years were finding it difficult to change the language in the middle of the session.

Awaiting official announcement
The CBSE official said that the official information about this decision has not been given to him yet, although he already had an idea that there could be some change in the language policy. He also said that why the language policy was changed after the start of the session is also a big question. The reply in this matter is to be filed in the court on July 14 and this decision can be taken before that.
What will be the impact on students and schools?
According to the report, about 80 percent of the schools affiliated to CBSE had made preparations to implement the new language system including Sanskrit for Class 9. If the decision changes now, then the schools may have to change their preparations and the arrangement of subjects again.
