- This feature will work on Android 10+, will come in beta soon.
Whatsapp New Feature: WhatsApp is working on a new feature which can change the way users chat. According to reports, the company is testing the support of notification bubbles for Android users. If you’ve used Facebook Messenger, you’ll be familiar with it—this feature shows chats as floating icons on the screen, allowing conversations to be continued without even opening the app. Currently this feature is in the development stage and is not yet available even for beta users.
What is the purpose of notification bubbles?
The main objective of this new feature is to make chatting easier and faster. According to reports, this system will work in conjunction with Android notifications so that users will be able to read and reply to messages using any other app. This means that now there will be no need to open WhatsApp every time and the experience of multitasking will be better.
Big change in the design of the app
WhatsApp is preparing changes not only in bubbles but also in its interface. There is news that the company is going to give a new look to the top bar of the app. In this, the name of the app can be removed and the official logo can be shown in its place. This change is considered special because the design of the app has remained largely the same since 2013. Apart from this, space can also be made for new elements like status updates in the top bar.
How will these floating bubbles work?
After the notification bubbles appear, whenever a new message arrives, a small floating icon will appear on the screen. It will have the WhatsApp symbol along with the profile photo of that contact or group. As soon as you tap on this bubble, a small chat window will open where you can immediately read and reply to the message, that too without opening the app completely.
This feature can prove to be especially useful for those who want to chat while watching videos or scrolling through social media. However, some users may find this feature a bit annoying. The good thing is that it can be turned on or off as per the need.
On which devices will support be available?
This feature will work on Android 10 and above but its performance is expected to be better in Android 11 or newer versions. For this, users may have to enable it manually by going to their phone’s settings.
When will this feature come?
At present this feature is not completely ready yet and it is being continuously improved. It is expected that first it will be released for some selected beta users and then it will be rolled out for everyone. WhatsApp is continuously making new changes towards making its platform more smart and user-friendly.
