Neem Karoli Baba: An emotional spiritual fact related to Neem Karoli Baba, a staunch devotee of Lord Hanuman and miraculous saint, has come to light. Baba’s ashes have been kept safe with full devotion in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, for the last 53 years.
According to the information, Baba left his body on 11 September 1973 in Vrindavan on the day of Anant Chaturdashi. After this, his ashes were immersed in 11 holy rivers of the country, but his elder son brought a part with him to Bhopal. That urn is still preserved by the family.
Neem Karoli Baba’s grandson Dr. Dhananjay Sharma told that Baba had a special attachment to Bhopal. In the year 1970, he stayed in his house in Arera Colony for about 10 days. During this time he visited many areas of the city and also stayed for the night at the Newari temple.
He also told that the family considers Baba to be the incarnation of Hanuman. Baba himself had gifted him a special idol of Hanumanji, which he worships regularly even today. According to the family, this urn is extremely unique and no other such urn exists anywhere else in the country.

Along with this, he also informed that preparations are underway to make a film on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, through which his life, miracles and spiritual thoughts can be made available to the people on a wider scale.

Neem Karoli Baba is counted among the great saints of the 20th century, who is considered to be a great devotee of Lord Hanuman and his part or incarnation. According to the information available on the internet, Baba was born as Laxman Das Sharma in Akbarpur (Firozabad area) of Uttar Pradesh. Later he embarked on the path of spiritual practice and became famous across the country for his miracles, simple life and compassion. Kainchi Dham Ashram located in Nainital district of Uttarakhand is one of his major ashrams, where lakhs of devotees come every year for darshan. Even today, lakhs of his devotees in India and abroad also come to Kainchi Dham.
