Knight Riders achieved a thrilling victory on the last ball of the innings. In the final match, Knight Riders team batted first and scored 164 runs in 19.4 overs, but in response, Washington team could only score 163 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. In this way, the Knight Riders team won the thrilling final and won the title of MLC 2026.
Chasing the target of 165 runs, Washington team needed only 14 runs in the last over to win. Shadley Van Schalkwyk came to bowl the last over for Knight Riders. Obus Pienaar hit a six on the very first ball of Schalkvik’s over and completely pushed the match towards Washington, but on the very next ball Schalkvik came back and bowled out Pienaar.
