MCD Edulife 2.0 Portal Launched: MCD schools will be hi-tech, with EduLife 2.0, students’ education, records and school management will now be completely digital.

MCD Edulife 2.0 Portal Launched: Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has taken a big step towards connecting the education system with technology in its primary schools. Through the EduLife 2.0 portal launched on Tuesday, student records, academic planning, school administration and parent-related systems of more than 1500 MCD schools will be brought on a unified digital platform. Its objective is to make the functioning of schools more systematic, transparent and effective.

Complete records of schools will now be available on a single platform

Necessary information of all schools will be available centrally through EduLife 2.0. With this, education department officials will not have to repeatedly ask for separate reports from schools for information related to RTI, House and Parliamentary questions as well as policy making. The information on the portal will be updated regularly, so that officials will get new data all the time. Along with this, the additional burden of data collection on the employees of the education department will also be reduced to a great extent.

Teachers will get digital support, paper work will be reduced

In the portal, lesson plans, worksheets, assessment tools, digital planners and other teaching materials have been made available to teachers as per the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). Teachers will be able to enter assessment details of students online, track their academic progress and also access digital content. This will reduce paperwork and teachers will be able to spend more time with students.

Parents will be able to watch children’s education and school activities sitting at home

Through this portal, parents will be able to monitor their children’s academic progress, attendance, information related to mid-day meal and school activities online. Schools will also record Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) reports and suggestions received from parents digitally. This is expected to strengthen the communication between the school and parents.

Meritorious students will get recognition, school will also connect with former students

Special sections like Alumni Corner and Success Story have also been added in EduLife 2.0. Through these, alumni will be able to stay connected with their schools, while the achievements of talented and outstanding students will also be prominently displayed. Education Committee Chairman Yogesh Verma said that the names of meritorious students will be uploaded on the portal, so that sports academies and other institutions can get an opportunity to identify such children and promote them.

Leader of the House Jai Bhagwan Yadav said that there may be some challenges at the initial stage in adopting the new technology, but with time this system will help teachers to better analyze the progress of students and increase the quality of education.
