Aruna Satam was the captain of the Kabaddi team.
Shivaji Satam’s wife’s name was Aruna Satam. She was the captain of Maharashtra’s Kabaddi team. She wanted to do a lot in her life, but fate had something else in store. Actually, in the year 2000, Aruna Satam died due to cancer. According to Times of India, while talking about his wife Aruna Satam in an interview, Shivaji had said, ‘She was the captain of Maharashtra’s Kabaddi team. He had received Chhatrapati Shivaji Award. She was a manager as well as a coach. She used to do everything in her life. We were together for 24 years, if not longer. Aruna had died of cancer.
Nana Patekar and Aruna Irani took over
Shivaji had told that his wife’s treatment lasted for 7 years. During that cancer treatment, his family as well as the stars of the film industry supported him. Shivaji had said, ‘It was a very difficult time, but I think suddenly you get the courage to fight everything. I still remember that after Aruna’s death, Nana Patekar and Aruna Irani took care of me. I raised my two sons (Abhijeet and Anirudh) alone.
