Kranti wants to return the trust of her family by performing well in the ongoing T20 World Cup in England. Gaur, who comes from a small village in Madhya Pradesh, told that her mother had sold her jewelery to buy a cricket kit.

Kranti Gaur said that if the family is together then the words of other people do not matter, because they are not together anyway. I am very grateful to my family, they supported me at every step, even though there was always a shortage of money. Now Gaur wants to make her family proud by performing well for India.

Family sacrificed for cricket

My mother sold her jewelery to buy a cricket kit for me. This was a huge sacrifice. The family was doing so much for me, so I felt responsible. I wanted to give something back to them. I wanted to give meaning to their sacrifice. Gaur said that she will always be indebted to her family, who gave her the freedom to choose the career of her choice. ‘At that time many girls were not even allowed to go out, but my parents were different. He never made me feel that I was doing anything wrong. He believed in my dream. He said, ‘This gave me the strength to move forward and achieve my goal. When we know that the family is together, it becomes easier to ignore the outside world. Gaur’s entry into Indian cricket also brought changes in his village, a cricket academy was opened there and now parents are allowing girls to make a career in sports.

World Cup victory changed thinking

Because of my performance for India in the ODI World Cup (2025), a cricket academy has opened in Ghuwara village, where I live. Now many girls are coming there to play cricket. It is a matter of pride for me. ‘Their parents now trust their daughters and believe that they can make a career in this sport. I meet these girls regularly. The World Cup victory has played a big role in this change. Now Gaur is ready to challenge Bangladesh in the important match of the World Cup in Manchester. It is necessary for India to win this match to remain in the race for the semi-finals. ‘I always think that I have to give my 100 percent. Whatever ball I bowl, I will give my best in it. We work on new balls, but focus more on our strengths, the same balls that get us wickets.
