Shreyas Iyer Stunning Catch: The wicket of Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya became a topic of discussion in the cricket world. While trying to play a big shot off Marco Jansen, Hardik became the victim of an incredible fielding effort by Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer. Iyer caught the ball flying in the air near the boundary and threw it towards Xavier Bartlett before crossing the boundary line. Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav sitting in the dugout were also stunned to see this ‘catch of the season’.

New Delhi. An IPL match was played at Wankhede Stadium which crossed all limits of excitement. There was a flash of lightning in the match when Punjab captain Shreyas Iyer took an impossible catch on the boundary line and sent Hardik Pandya to the pavilion. Between the shine of experienced stars and the rise of new stars, this match became a confluence of records and unmatched athleticism. Batting first, Mumbai scored 195 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs on the basis of Quinton De Kock’s unbeaten 112 runs and Naman Dhir’s 50 runs.
17.3 overs of the innings were going on. Mumbai Indians team was moving towards a big score and captain Hardik Pandya was set at the crease. Punjab Kings fast bowler Marco Jansen was at the bowling end. In a well thought out strategy, Jansen kept the ball well outside the off-stump and reduced the speed a bit. Hardik tried to play a big shot on this ball, but the ball hit the lower part of his bat and rose high in the air. The ball was going towards long-on right over the bowler. It seemed that the ball would fall in the safe area, but then ‘Iyer magic’ started on the field.
