ISRO URSC Internship 2026 : If you want to make a career in the field of space science, satellite technology, engineering or research, then the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has brought a great opportunity for you. ISRO’s major center U.R. Rao Satellite Center (URSC) has announced internship program for students. Through this internship, students will get the opportunity to work on satellite design, space systems and real research projects. This internship is special for those students who want to gain experience during their studies and want to understand the world of space technology closely. Project allotment in this internship will be done on first come, first serve basis, hence interested students should complete the preparation of application in time.
When will the application process start?
U.R. According to Rao Satellite Centre, the next application process for internship will start from August 3, 2026. Applications will be accepted only during the stipulated time. Due to limited number of seats, it will be beneficial for students to apply as soon as the application window opens.
What is ISRO URSC Internship Programme?
ISRO URSC Internship 2026 is a structured academic internship program offered by URSC. It is operated under Rao Satellite Centre. This center does the important work of satellite design, growth and integration for India’s space missions. During the internship, the selected students will get an opportunity to understand and contribute to real work related to satellite technology, space systems and research. Students will be linked to ongoing technical and research activities, where they will work with expert scientists and engineers.
How to get the project?
During internship, students will be placed in different technical groups based on their educational qualification, course and available projects. The institute will ensure that students get the opportunity to work on projects commensurate with their field of study and skills. Work may include work such as design support, analysis, simulation, testing assistance, software development, research or documentation related to satellite systems.
Who can apply?
Indian citizens can apply for this internship. Eligible candidates include students pursuing UG, PG or PhD from a recognized university or institute, students from recognized institutes in India or abroad and candidates who have completed UG or PG and wish to do internship within six months of completion of the course. Apart from this, the applicant must be a regular on-campus student. Students applying should be at least in fifth semester or third year.
How much will be the internship time?
ISRO URSC Internship is usually of 4 to 6 weeks. Time is decided according to the related project and academic need. This will be a completely on-site internship, that is, the selected students will have to be present and work at the URSC campus. They will have to follow the time prescribed under the respective division.
How will the selection be done?
Students will be selected for internship as per the prescribed procedure of the institute. In this, first of all the applications of the candidates will be scrutinized. After this, their educational qualification and subject of study will be evaluated to see how much their background matches the available projects. Then the concerned technical department will review the suitability of the candidate. Final selection and approval will be given under the authorized department of URSC. The institute has made it clear that merely fulfilling the eligibility does not decide the selection. Internship opportunity will be given on the basis of project availability and educational background of the candidate.

Opportunity will be given on first come first serve basis
URSC has said that internship allotment will be done on first come, first serve basis. The number of seats is limited and every year only a limited number of students are given the opportunity. In such a situation, it will be necessary to apply as soon as the application starts.
Stipend and accommodation facilities will not be available
No kind of financial assistance will be given to the students under this internship. No stipend will be given by the institute. Also, accommodation facilities will not be available. Apart from this, transport facility will not be available. Canteen facility will also not be provided.
Which documents will be required for the application?
While applying, students will have to submit some important documents. These include bonafide certificate or recommendation letter from the institute, academic marksheet or transcript, CV or resume, valid government identity card. Only applications submitted through the official portal will be accepted.
