IPL 2026: This batsman created havoc in IPL by hitting 44 fours and 24 sixes, reached the top in the Orange Cap race

Amidst the excitement of IPL 2026, the battle to score the most runs has now reached its peak. A major upset was seen in the match played between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings. Delhi captain KL Rahul has captured the Orange Cap by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad’s young star Abhishek Sharma. This season is proving to be very good for Indian batsmen, because four Indian players have dominated the top-5 list.

In the match being played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Rahul needed only 8 runs to become number-1 and win the Orange Cap. Abhishek’s strike rate is 206.57, which is the highest among the top-5 batsmen. At present, he is just 5 runs behind Rahul, which makes it clear that there will be a fierce fight between these two for the number-1 position in the coming matches.

Heinrich Klaasen of Sunrisers Hyderabad is also present at the third position. Klaasen has scored 425 runs so far and he is the only foreign player in this list. The presence of Klaasen shows how dangerous the Hyderabad batsmen are in form this time. The difference in runs is so small that even one good innings can make any player a king.
