IPL 2026: Whenever opener Abhishek Sharma’s bat swings, the bowlers are in a frenzy and the record book is also updated. While playing against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Hyderabad on Tuesday in IPL 2026, this SRH opener scored an explosive century and became the player to win the most ‘Player of the Match’ titles for the team.
Abhishek Sharma came to start the innings for SRH. This left-handed batsman played an unbeaten inning of 135 runs in 68 balls with the help of 10 fours and 10 sixes. Thanks to this inning, SRH scored a huge score of 242 runs for 2 wickets. SRH bowlers restricted Delhi Capitals to 195 runs and won the match by 47 runs.
Abhishek Sharma got ‘Player of the Match’
After SRH’s victory, Abhishek Sharma was given the title of ‘Player of the Match’. While playing for this team, he won the title of ‘Player of the Match’ for the 7th time in the 81st match. Abhishek has now become the Indian player to win this title the most number of times for SRH. He left behind the team’s former fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who became a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2025, was a part of SRH from 2014 to 2024, and his name is included among the players who have played the most matches for the team. Bhuvneshwar played 145 matches for SRH and during this period he won the title of ‘Player of the Match’ 6 times.
This was Abhishek’s second century while playing for SRH. He has become the third batsman after David Warner and Heinrich Klaasen to score 2 centuries for the team. In IPL 2025, Abhishek played an inning of 141 runs with the help of 10 sixes and 14 fours in 55 balls against Punjab Kings.
