Instagram New Rule: Instagram has now become more serious than ever about the safety of teen users. This platform of Meta has released a big update whose purpose is to show safe and age-appropriate content to young users.
Content will appear like 13+ rules
Under this new change, the same content will now be shown to teens which is usually of the level of movies for 13+ age. That means the platform itself will limit such posts, videos and accounts which are not appropriate for their age. This setting will be applied by default and children will not be able to turn it off on their own, it will require parental permission.
Parents will get more control
Mark Zuckerberg’s company is now giving more power to parents also. Under this, a new feature called Limited Content has been introduced through which parents can decide how much and what kind of content their child should see. In this mode, more strictness will be applied on both content and interaction.
Ban on dangerous and sensitive content
Instagram will now reduce or completely block content that contains profanity, dangerous stunts or things that promote inappropriate behavior. Apart from this, posts related to alcohol, drugs or scary visuals will also be more limited for teens than before.
Control over search and account access
Now teens will not be able to search some sensitive words and even if they enter wrong spelling, such results will not be visible. Additionally, teens will not be able to follow accounts that repeatedly share inappropriate content. Even if someone is already followed, their content, comments or messages will not be visible.
AI will lead to better monitoring
Instagram is now using advanced AI technology to quickly identify and filter incorrect and inappropriate content. It will also be ensured that the answers received from AI are safe and suitable for teens.
Trying to create a safe environment
The company says that even though no system is completely perfect, it is constantly trying to improve. The purpose of this update is to provide a safer online environment to teens and give more trust and control to parents.
