Sachin, who made India win the ODI World Cup in 2011, also gave India recognition in the world of cricket in the 90s and 2000s. But did Sachin take retirement on his own will? Sandeep Patil's disclosure
Former BCCI Chief Selector Sandeep Patil has made a big revelation regarding Sachin's retirement. The 'Master Blaster' had taken retirement after the Test series against West Indies, but BCCI had already told him that they are looking for his replacement. In 2012, Sachin left ODI cricket and also stopped playing T20. Only Test cricket was left.

Patil asked Sachin, “What are your plans?”
Sachin replied, “Why?” Patil said that the committee is looking for his replacement. Sachin was surprised. He called again – Are you serious? Patil said, “Yes.”
Patil told in the interview, “Selectors can drop a player, but cannot say that his career is over. We asked him about his plans. He said that he wants to play. We said okay.”

Sachin played his last match for India against West Indies in Mumbai and scored 74 runs. This was a great end to his illustrious career. BCCI did not directly force Sachin to retire, but his decision was definitely affected. The year 2012 was not good for Sachin. He scored runs in nine tests at an average of only 23.80 and did not score any century. Even in ODIs, his average in 10 matches was only 31.50.

Sachin played only one T20 International and scored 10 runs. He played 200 matches in Tests and scored 15,921 runs while batting 329 times, the average being 53.78. He scored 51 centuries and 68 half-centuries, in which the highest score was 248*. In ODI, Sachin scored 18,426 runs in 452 innings in 463 matches, the average was 44.83. His highest score was 200*, along with 49 centuries and 96 half-centuries.
