Embarrassing defeat in Ireland-England, now when and where will Team India play the next series?
Last Updated:
IND vs ZIM T20 Series: So far 14 T20I matches have been played between India and Zimbabwe, in which India’s record has been excellent. Out of 14, India has won 11 matches while three matches have gone in favor of Zimbabwe. Now a new chapter is going to start with the three-match T-20 series from July 23. According to Indian time, all these matches will start at 4.30 pm.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi can play all the matches on Zimbabwe tour.
Harare: After losing two consecutive series in Ireland and England, Team India’s next challenge will now be in Zimbabwe. The first match of the three-match T20 series will be played in Harare from 23 July. This short tour of Zimbabwe will also be an opportunity for Shreyas Iyer to prove himself as a T20I captain. It also remains to be seen how India’s top order will play without Sanju Samson. Zimbabwe cannot be taken lightly here. Under the captaincy of Sikandar Raza, the hosts have become much stronger than before.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi has a chance
15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has returned to the same place where the Under-19 World Cup was held in January. He played a match-winning inning of 175 runs in 80 balls in the final against England. Due to Samson not being in the team, Vaibhav Suryavanshi may get a chance to play three consecutive matches, so that he can stake his claim to cement his place in the T20I team. In the three matches in which he was given a chance in England, he was able to score only 14, 13 and 15. While Joffra Archer caused trouble in England, Richard Ngarawa and Blessing Muzarabani can also create problems in Zimbabwe.

| second t20 | 25th July | Harare |

Eye on Iyer’s captaincy also
Shreyas Iyer’s debut as captain of the Indian team has been no less than a nightmare. The team lost six out of seven matches while one match remained inconclusive. After losing the series in Ireland (2-0) and England (4-0), all eyes are on Iyer. He took over the captaincy after IPL 2026, while he had not played any T20I match since December 2023. Since the half season of IPL 2026, Iyer has been able to win only one out of 13 complete matches as captain. During this period he had to face six consecutive defeats. Due to this bad phase, Punjab Kings’ campaign was derailed, even though they had started the season without losing in seven consecutive matches.
India’s squad: Shreyas Iyer (captain), Tilak Verma, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Shivam Dubey, Suryansh Shedge, Rinku Singh, Harsh Dubey, Ravi Bishnoi, Prince Yadav, Yash Thakur, Ashok Sharma, Mayank Yadav and Prabhsimran Singh.
Zimbabwe squad: Sikandar Raza (captain), Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl, Ben Curran, Brad Evans, Clive Madande (wk), Tinotenda Maphosa, Tadivanashe Marumani, Wellington Masakadza, Tashinga Musekiwa, Blessing Muzarabani, Dion Myers, Richard Ngarawa, Newman Nyamurhi and Milton Shumba.
