New Delhi: The Indian cricket team will soon take the field to make a splash in red ball cricket. Team India has to tour Sri Lanka for a two-Test series next month. The selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar can soon announce Team India for this series. The Indian team will leave for Sri Lanka on August 4 and the first Test match will be played in Galle, but before that Team India will also play a four-day practice match.
Meanwhile, according to a report in ‘Times of India’, Ravindra Jadeja and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah are going to return in this Test series against Sri Lanka. Jadeja was not included in the team in the recent one-off Test match against Afghanistan. At the same time, Bumrah has been out of the Test team for a long time due to injury.
Doubt over Washington Sundar’s return to the team
When the team for the Test series on Sri Lanka tour is selected, it will be interesting to see whether Washington Sundar’s name is in the squad or not. Sundar recently complained of hamstring problem in the second match of the England tour. It may take at least two weeks for them to become completely fit. In such a situation, there can be a discussion whether Harsh Dubey will retain his place in the team or the selectors will turn to an off-spinner like Saransh Jain to maintain diversity in the spin attack.
Apart from this, Manav Suthar and Kuldeep Yadav are likely to retain their places, while Mohammed Siraj, Gurnoor Brar and Prasidh Krishna are expected to remain in the fast bowling attack. At the same time, there is no possibility of change in the batting order.
