New Delhi. The three-match ODI series between India and England has now reached its most exciting turn. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has dropped injured Washington Sundar from the team and in his place, young all-rounder Harsh Dubey has been included in the Indian squad.
Washington Sundar out due to hamstring injury
According to the statement issued by BCCI, ‘Washington Sundar suffered an injury to the hamstring of his right leg during the second ODI played in Cardiff. After medical examination, he has been ruled out of the remaining matches of the series. Now he will undergo scans for further treatment and will be under the supervision of a specialist doctor. Sundar’s absence is being considered a big blow for India, because along with batting, he provides balance to the team in spin bowling as well.
Harsh Dubey got a chance
23-year-old Harsh Dubey has been included in the Indian team in place of Washington Sundar. Harsh, who has consistently performed brilliantly in domestic cricket, has not been a part of the ODI team for the first time. Harsh, who made his international debut in the ODI series against Afghanistan, has taken four wickets in his name while playing two ODI matches. Apart from being a left arm spin bowler, he also bats usefully. The team management will hope that he will play the role of all-rounder well when needed.
