This legal drama film was released on April 30, 1993 and it did well at the box office. People liked the story of this film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Ashwin Kaushal also played an important role in ‘Damini’. Recently the actor told that during the shooting of this film, Rishi Kapoor had slapped him 25 times.
Ashwin Kaushal narrated an interesting story
In Siddharth Kannan’s podcast, veteran actor Ashwin Kaushal revealed that Rishi Kapoor had slapped him 25 times during the shooting of the film ‘Damini’. He said, ‘Chintu Sahab (Rishi Kapoor) was very fond of food, drink and fun. I still remember that scene of the film ‘Damini’, in which he had to kill me after the rape scene. There were about 25 re-takes of that scene and Chintu Sahab had made my cheek swell like a football by beating me.

Later Rishi Kapoor compensated for this
Ashwin Kaushal further said, ‘Rishi Kapoor was such a human being that later to compensate for this, he fed me wonderful Chinese food. He was exactly like a father. I miss him a lot. Let us tell you that in ‘Damini’, Ashwin Kaushal played the role of Rakesh Gupta, who is the brother of Rishi Kapoor’s character Shekhar Gupta.
Ashwin Kaushal will be seen in ‘Love and War’
Let us tell you that Ashwin Kaushal will soon be seen in the film ‘Love and War’. The director of this film is Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The trio of Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in this film. Ashwin is going to play the role of Ranbir’s father in the film.

In Siddharth Kanan’s podcast, Ashwin praised Ranbir and said, ‘Rishi Kapoor has been my idol and I considered him like my father. Now I am playing the role of father of Chintu saab’s son Ranbir Kapoor.
He further said, ‘Ranbir Kapoor is a very cultured and down to earth person. He has no pride in stardom at all. He meets everyone on the set with great love and respect. Let us tell you that the film ‘Love and War’ will be released in theaters on January 21, 2027.
