In the 41st match of IPL 2026, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets. Hardik Pandya had won the toss and decided to bat first, with Ryan Rickelton’s record century (123) Mumbai scored a huge score of 243 runs, but due to poor bowling, MI could not defend this big total. Hardik said after the match, “I had full confidence in our bowlers that they would defend this total. But we could not implement our plans properly.”
Hardik further said, “I don’t think dew played any special role, it was just that he played some good shots and we bowled bad balls. Today I really enjoyed playing on the field. 244 runs, I had confidence in my bowlers that they would defend this target, but we could not execute the plans properly. Except the last 3 balls, I enjoyed my bowling.”

In Wednesday’s match, Mumbai Indians missed many wicket opportunities, although some were a bit difficult, but if they had been caught, the situation would have been different. Hardik said, “This season has been like that. You grab the opportunities but if you are not able to do so, you feel sad. In this edition, we do not have much options. I will not blame our bowlers. As a whole team, we have not been able to perform for which Mumbai Indians are known.”

Hardik Pandya further said, “Our owners and support staff are very passionate. Hopefully we will find a solution.” On the crowd’s support, he said, “We haven’t given them much of a chance to support us, yet they have been fantastic and loyal. It also hurts when the opposing team comes and the crowd starts chanting their name.”
