Harbhajan Singh on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi: What Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is doing has never happened before in the history of cricket, Harbhajan Singh also became a fan.

New Delhi: Once again all eyes are on India’s 15-year-old superstar Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Vaibhav got a chance in three matches against England, but he could not do anything special. Now he is expected to get a few matches in the T-20 series against Zimbabwe starting from July 23.

Praising this rising star, Harbhajan Singh said that he has never seen such an outspoken batsman. Harbhajan Singh, while talking to ‘GeoStar’, said that Suryavanshi’s reliance on his natural style reflects the changing thinking of modern cricket, where players are encouraged to openly showcase their talent. He said:

The biggest difference between today’s youth and the youth of yesteryear is the reach of media and social media. Such things used to happen earlier also, but today they get much more attention. The kind of game that Vaibhav Suryavanshi is showing today, no one has ever done it before. He is incredible, such a brilliant talent. I don’t think I have ever seen or encountered such talent.

During this, Harbhajan also shared an anecdote related to former India head coach Rahul Dravid. He told that Dravid had asked Suryavanshi what he would do on the first ball of his Indian Premier League (IPL) career. He said:

Rahul Dravid was the coach of that team. He asked Suryavanshi, ‘What will you do on the first ball?’ He replied, ‘If the first ball is within reach of my shot, I will smash it.’ And he did just that. He hit a six against Shardul Thakur on the very first ball of his IPL career.

The first match of the three-match T20 series between India and Zimbabwe will be played on 23 July, the second on 25 July and the third on 26 July. All matches will be held at Harare Sports Club.
