England Cricket: Andy Flower going to leave RCB and become England coach? The veteran took a big decision

After Brendon McCullum stepped down, Royal Challengers Bangalore head coach Andy Flower was considered the strongest contender, but he has made it clear that he is not interested in taking over the responsibility of the England team at present. Flower said in clear words that he is completely satisfied with his current coaching role with RCB and London Spirit and wants to focus on this.

Flower out of England coaching race
Andy Flower said while talking to the media that he is very happy with the work he is doing at the moment. He clearly admitted that he has distanced himself from the race to become the head coach of the England Test team. Flowers said, ‘He has two great organizations that he is working with. He has full confidence in his team, his colleagues and the current environment. In such a situation, he is not looking for any new role.

Flower also revealed that he has discussed this issue with England and Wales Cricket Board Managing Director Rob Key. He has made it clear to the board that he does not want to take the responsibility of coaching the England team at this time. He said, ‘It is always an honor to work with the England team, but at the moment his entire focus is on franchise cricket.’

The first tenure with England was golden
Andy Flower had previously been the head coach of the England cricket team from 2009 to 2014. His tenure is counted among the most successful tours of English cricket. Under his coaching, England won both home and away Ashes series. Apart from this, the team had also achieved memorable success on the India tour. Flower’s strategy and discipline were greatly appreciated at that time.

Continuous success in franchise cricket
After leaving the England team, Andy Flower made his own identity in franchise cricket. He has coached in many T20 leagues of the world and has been consistently successful. In recent years, he played an important role in helping Royal Challengers Bangalore win two consecutive IPL titles.
