DRDO Paid Internship 2026 : A great opportunity has emerged for engineering and science students who dream of working in the field of defense research. Hyderabad-based Defense Metallurgical Research Laboratory (DMRL) of Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has started a 6-month paid internship program for the year 2026. Through this internship, students will get an opportunity to work on the country’s advanced defense technology and research projects, and selected students will also be given a stipend of Rs 5,000 every month.
Candidates can apply online till 15 July 2026. This internship is for those students who are in the last year of engineering or science studies. During this period, students will get experience of working on projects related to defense research. After completing the internship, a certificate will also be given by DRDO.
Who can apply?
Only students studying in AICTE or UGC approved institutions can apply for this internship. Final year students of BE, BTech, ME, MTech and MSc are eligible for this. For engineering students, it is necessary to have at least 7.0 CGPA in all the semesters so far. Whereas post graduate engineering and science students should have at least 70 percent marks in the first year. Apart from this, the age of the candidate should be less than 28 years by 31 July 2026.
How much stipend will I get and when will the internship start?
This internship will be for 6 months and will start from 5th August 2026. Selected students will get a stipend of Rs 5,000 every month. The stipend amount will be given in two installments. The first installment will be sent to the student’s bank account after completion of three months and the second installment after completion of six months of internship and evaluation of the project. If for any reason the internship lasts more than six months, no additional stipend will be given for the additional period.

how to apply?
1. Application for this internship will have to be completely online. First of all candidates download the application form from the official website of DRDO.
2. After filling the form, scan the college reference letter and necessary documents and email it to hrd.dmrl@gov.in.
3. While sending the email, it is necessary to write Application for paid internship 2026, DMRL Hyderabad (BRANCH CODE) in the subject. You will also have to enter your branch code in this. There is no application fee for this recruitment.
Selection process and required documents
Candidates will be selected mainly on the basis of their academic record and merit. If necessary, DRDO can also organize online or offline interviews. Filled application form, mark sheet of previous semester, copy of Aadhar card or other identity card, reference letter of the college and bio-data will have to be sent along with the application.
