Dosa Healthy or Unhealthy: As important as exercising in the morning is for the body, breakfast is equally important, but people often ignore it and replace it with high caffeine drinks like coffee, which is not beneficial for health. To make the body productive, it is important to keep it not only mentally but also physically fit and morning breakfast is the biggest source of this.
Dosa is becoming such a staple food that it is being liked not only in the South but also in the Northern part. People are liking it a lot as breakfast, but is it harmful to eat dosa in the morning? Let us know the opinion of celebrity fitness trainer, Siddharth Singh.
Why is Dosa so popular?
Recently, Siddharth Singh told through a reel on Instagram that “If you want to lose weight, then stop consuming dosa.” But he said this with the aim of calling Dosa not harmful but incomplete. “Dosa is made from rice and sambar is also a type of dal. There is nothing harmful in it, the problem here is with the recurring hunger.”
I feel hungry again
Dosa is made only from rice and pulses, which being light gets digested quickly, but its one drawback is that you feel hungry immediately after eating it and the problem starts from here. Siddharth further said that “After 1 hour of eating Dosa, you start feeling hungry again and to satisfy it, you eat again, which increases your calorie intake.” In simple words, it is not the dosa but the food taken after it that causes weight gain.

Should one stop consuming Dosa?
Siddharth said, “Don’t change the dosa, but increase the items taken with it, like you can take some paneer bhurji with it.” Giving the logic behind this, he said that this will not make you feel hungry and your protein intake will also remain maintained.
What should a breakfast of dosa look like?
If you don’t like cheese, replace it with a similar protein item, such as
Keep eggs separately.
Almond and coconut chutney (for essential fats and protein).
A bowl of thick sambar made from lentils will also do the trick.
