How does the Undo Send feature work?
Gmail's Undo Send feature is a kind of security shield that gives you the option to pause an email for a short period of time after sending it. When you click on Send, the email does not reach the recipient immediately but remains paused for a few seconds. Meanwhile, the option of Undo appears on your screen. If you immediately click on Undo, the process of sending the email stops and it opens back in the draft. From there you can correct your mistake whether it is text, attachment or receiver name.
Get more control by increasing time
By default, Gmail gives very little time for this feature, which is sometimes not enough. But the good thing is that you can increase this time by going to settings. Undo Send option is available in Gmail settings where you can choose the time as per your need. If you want more security, it is better to choose the maximum time so that you get enough chance to correct the mistake.

When you send an email from the phone, a small message appears at the bottom of the screen in which there is an option of Undo along with Sent. If at that moment you realize your mistake, you can immediately stop the email by pressing Undo. But keep in mind that this option is visible only for a few seconds after which the email is completely sent.
