Pujara clearly says that Vaibhav is talented and he should get a chance, but not by sacrificing Sanju Samson or dropping him.
The demand for Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s debut is rising loudly.
New Delhi. Cheteshwar Pujara has openly expressed his views on the ongoing discussions regarding the team’s top order before the second T20 match against England. Pujara believes that despite the growing demand to include young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the playing eleven, Sanju Samson should not be dropped from the team. He made it clear that the continuous statements and speculations regarding Samson’s place are completely unnecessary and this wicketkeeper-batsman should get a longer chance in the team.
Cheteshwar Pujara, while talking to Geo Star, strongly supported Sanju Samson. He said, ‘I think India should move forward with Sanju Samson only. I do not think there should be any kind of pressure on him. He has proved himself in the T20 World Cup and considering the extraordinary talent he has, he deserves to be in the playing eleven.’ Pujara further said that the noise about dropping Sanju Samson from the team is completely wrong, who should get continuous opportunities to show his ability. According to Pujara, Sanju should only focus on his natural game and not think too much.
‘Vaibhav Suryavanshi should get a chance, but not by dropping someone’
Vaibhav Suryavanshi has caught everyone’s attention with his excellent performance in recent times and the demand to include him in the Indian T20 team is increasing. Pujara also admitted that this young player has earned the right to make a place in the team with his performance, but he is not at all in favor of tampering with India’s currently established top order for this.
While sharing his strategy, Pujara said, ‘Rest Sanju Samson, do not drop him. If Vaibhav has to be promoted, then he should be given a chance not by dropping any player but by giving rest to a senior player. If you want to give a chance to a youth then it is a good thing, but for this it would not be right to sit out any of India’s top-3 batsmen Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma or Ishan Kishan. Vaibhav Suryavanshi is a great talent and his time will also come soon, so there is no need to hurry now.
