The heroes of Delhi's victory were Sameer Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs, who played brilliant innings and brought their team out of trouble and led them to a grand victory. Sameer Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs were the heroes of Delhi's victory. On the basis of brilliant innings of both, Delhi achieved the target of 142 runs by scoring 145 runs at the loss of 4 wickets in 17.1 overs. Rizvi scored unbeaten 70 runs on 47 balls while Stubbs returned unbeaten on 39 runs on 32 balls.

Delhi Capitals had a very bad start to chase the target of 142 runs set by Lucknow Super Giants. On the very first ball of the innings, Mohammed Shami sent opener KL Rahul to the pavilion. After this, three more wickets of Delhi fell in quick succession which included the wickets of Pathum Nissanka, Nitish Rana and captain Akshar Patel. After this, Sameer Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs took charge of the innings and led the team to victory. Rana was out after scoring 15 runs while Nissanka scored one run. Akshar could not even open his account while Rahul could not score even a single run.

Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants team was reduced to 141 runs. This was LSG's lowest score in the first innings in IPL history. Lucknow Super Giants, who came to bat after losing the toss at Ekana Cricket Stadium, were bundled out for 141 runs in 18.4 overs. Earlier, while batting against Punjab Kings in IPL 2022, the team had scored 153/8 in the first innings. In IPL 2023, LSG could score only 154 runs by losing 7 wickets against Rajasthan Royals, whereas in the year 2022, this team scored 158 runs by losing 6 wickets against Gujarat Titans.

In the year 2023, against Punjab Kings, LSG could score only 159 runs after losing 8 wickets. In the match against Delhi Capitals, LSG got its first blow in the form of captain Rishabh Pant (7) on the score of 19. After this, Mitchell Marsh (35) along with Aiden Markram tried to control the team by scoring 29 runs for the second wicket, but after the dismissal of Markram (11), the team lost wickets rapidly. The situation was such that LSG had lost 5 wickets for just 71 runs. From here, Abdul Samad made a partnership of 34 runs with Mukul Chaudhary for the sixth wicket, while he made a partnership of 33 runs with Shahbaz Ahmed for the seventh wicket.

Samad returned to the pavilion after scoring 36 runs in 25 balls. Shahbaz Ahmed remained unbeaten after scoring 15 runs. Lungi Ngidi and T Natarajan took 3-3 wickets for Delhi Capitals. Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets, while 1 wicket was in the name of captain Akshar Patel.
