The most surprising and biggest gain in this ranking has been made by the new T20 captain of the Indian team, Shreyas Iyer. Despite facing four consecutive defeats as captain on the England tour, Iyer has taken a huge leap in the ICC rankings on the basis of his individual batting. Due to his fighting innings, Iyer has gained 425 places in the ranking of batsmen. Indian selectors recently handed over the command of the T20 team to Shreyas Iyer. However, his journey as captain has been very challenging. Iyer’s bat remained completely silent in the two-match series against Ireland and he flopped in two consecutive matches. After this, India also had to face initial defeat in the T20 series against England.

But amidst these failures, Shreyas Iyer made a brilliant comeback against England. In the first match of the series, Iyer played a fighting innings while handling the Indian innings. With the help of his innings, India batted first and scored a strong score of 189 runs, however later the match had to be canceled due to rain. In the second match also, Iyer continued his form and played a very useful inning of 37 runs in 22 balls at the time of crisis. He got the reward for these two consecutive brilliant innings in the ranking. Shreyas Iyer has now reached 93rd position. Even though he is waiting for his first win as captain, his personal achievement has definitely given some relief to the Indian camp. Suryakumar has dropped out of the top 10 and has slipped to 13th position.

Benefit to Rashid, loss to Indian bowlers
The day was not special for the Indian bowlers in the latest ICC T20 bowling rankings. The main bowlers of Team India have suffered losses in the rankings. Varun Chakraborty, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh, all three have slipped two places each. After this fall, now Varun Chakraborty has come to fifth place, Jasprit Bumrah to eighth place and Arshdeep Singh to 17th place.

On the other hand, England’s experienced leg spinner Adil Rashid has made huge gains in the rankings. On the basis of this performance, Rashid has moved up one place to become the world’s number 3 T20 bowler with 712 rating points. England’s Will Jacques has emerged as the biggest winner in the list of all-rounders this week. Jacques performed brilliantly with both ball and bat in the back-to-back wins against India. He dismissed India’s young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the second T20 match and then broke the back of Indian batting by taking the wicket of Tilak Verma, who had already been set in the third T20 match. Due to this brilliant all-round performance, he has now joined the top-10 all-rounders in the world.
