Delhi Capitals captain Akshar Patel believes that if the openers (Sahil Parikh, KL Rahul) and number three batsman Nitish Rana had stood a little longer, the situation would have been different. On Monday, Delhi had to face a shameful defeat in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Batting first, DC was reduced to just 75 runs. RCB achieved the target with 81 balls remaining and registered a big win by 9 wickets.
Akshar Patel said after the match, “Even now I don’t understand what happened. That’s why it is said that in cricket you always have to be alert. If it had happened like this, it would have happened, but you have to do well every day. You cannot be lax even for a day.”
Patel further said, “Instead of thinking about what has gone, it would be better to think about what is to come. Whether you think negative or positive, you will have to play. Today’s match was not good for us, but we have to remain positive and do what we have been doing till now.”

Targeted at KL Rahul-Nitish Rana?
Axar Patel said that the balls of Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were swinging and seaming, “I am not surprised. They are world class bowlers. If our openers and number 3 batsman had lasted for 1-2 overs, the situation would have been different. Let us tell you that in the first over, Bhuvneshwar had bowled Sahil Parakh (0). In the very next over, Josh Hazlewood bowled KL Rahul (1) and Sameer on 2 consecutive balls. Rizvi (0) was out. After this, Tristan Stubbs was out at 0. The fourth wicket in the form of Nitish Rana was out at the score of only 8 runs.

After the fall of 6 wickets for 8, it seemed that RCB’s unwanted record would be broken today. Let us tell you that the smallest score in IPL history is still of RCB. Let us tell you that in 2017, Bengaluru was all out for 49 runs in front of Kolkata.
