Music composer and singer Amaal Malik is in the news these days on social media. Recently, Amaal Malik had claimed that his father, music composer Dabboo Malik, had shot the film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, but without his knowledge he was replaced by Salman Khan. Now Dabboo Malik reacted to this statement and told that he was not working in that film, but on some other film.
Dabboo Malik not replaced in ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’
Recently, Dabboo Malik gave clarification on this matter in an interview given to Buzzzoka Prime. He said, ‘The name of the film I was working on was ‘Sawan Jhoom Utha’, not ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’. That film was later closed. After almost a year of hard work, we came to know that the film was not being made. One day when I went to Rajshri’s office, I saw a big poster of ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, which had the new hero and heroine.

There is some confusion – Dabboo Malik
Through this statement, Dabboo Malik made it clear that the film with which his name was being linked was actually some other project. Dabboo Malik further said that there is some confusion in the incident mentioned by Amaal Malik. He told that the film on which he was working was ‘Sawan Jhoom Utha’, which was being composed by Dabboo Malik himself and this project was being made under Rajshree Productions. However, this film was later closed.

Both projects were different – Dabboo Malik
Dabboo said that both the projects were different, but there were some similarities in the theme and love story vibe, due to which there might have been confusion in the family at times. That’s why Amaal told it in such a way that it seemed as if he had worked in ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’. He also said that when he later watched ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, he found some similarities with ‘Sawan Jhoom Utha’, but both the films were different. Dabbu expressed hope that after this clarification, the ongoing controversy over this entire matter will end.
What did Amaal Malik say?
Amaal Malik said in an interview to Filmfare that his father Dabboo Malik had also tried acting and he had shot as a hero in the first two schedules of the film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’. According to Amaal, Sooraj Barjatya’s father had told Dabbu to start shooting because the story was good and he should get into the flow of work.
He further told that once Dabboo saw Salman Khan climbing the stairs of Rajshri office and asked the security about him. He was told that ‘he is the lead hero of the new film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’.’ Amal said that his father was not given any information about this earlier.

‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ (1989) is a romantic drama film, directed by Sooraj Barjatya. Salman Khan started his career as a lead actor in this film, while this was Bhagyashree’s Bollywood debut film. This film proved to be a big hit at the box office at that time and with this, Salman Khan and Bhagyashree got stardom overnight.
