As the most expensive foreign player in IPL history, Green, bought for Rs 25.20 crore, was under immense pressure to justify his price tag. Before this historic innings, his performance had been very disappointing and he appeared to be the weakest link of the team. In the first 5 innings, only 56 runs were scored from his bat, due to which the value of each of his runs was being estimated in lakhs and critics were continuously raising questions on his form.
