New Delhi. Amidst the three-match ODI series against India, England has included fast bowling all-rounder Brayden Carse in the team, who has recovered from wrist and elbow injuries. After successfully completing his rehabilitation, the seam-bowling all-rounder is now ready to play in international cricket. Cars had earlier played an ODI match on 1 November 2025. In January 2026, he was seen playing a test match for England, after which he had to sit out of the team.
Kars played 3 matches in Vitality Blast 2026, taking 4 wickets at an average of 20.25. The selectors seem satisfied with his progress. With Carse joining the team, England has got another option for fast bowling. England announced team changes on Tuesday, with Carves joining the team led by captain Harry Brook. Since making his ODI debut in 2021, Carse has established himself as an excellent all-rounder.
In 30 ODI matches, he took 34 wickets at an average of 40.44, which also included a ‘five wicket haul’. Batting in the lower order, he also scored 264 runs at an average of 17.60. The ODI series against India started on Tuesday in Edgbaston. After this, both the countries will play the remaining two matches of the series at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on 16 July and Lord’s in London on 19 July.
England hope that the return of Carrs will strengthen their bowling, especially after the team performed brilliantly in the last T20 series, winning 4-0 over India. His fast pace, ability to get bounce and contributions with the bat make him an important player as England look to maintain the same rhythm in the 50-over format.
Updated England team: Harry Brook (captain), Rehan Ahmed, Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Tom Banton, Jacob Bethel, Jos Buttler, Brydon Carse, James Coles, Sam Curran, Liam Dawson, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Saqib Mahmood, Adil Rashid, Joe Root and Josh Tongue.
