Ishan Kishan had appealed for Richlton

New Delhi: In the 41st match of the Indian Premier League 2026, Sunrisers Hyderabad wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan’s cleverness failed when he made a strong appeal against Ryan Rickleton on the score of 99 runs. The incident occurred on the fourth ball of the 15th over of the innings. Rickleton was just 1 run away from his century, when Nitish Kumar Reddy bowled him a fast ball which passed very close to him on the leg side. Ishan Kishan felt that the ball had reached him with Rickleton’s gloves or the edge of the bat. In such a situation, he made a strong appeal.

However, it did not take long for the umpire to understand Ishan Kishan’s cleverness and he immediately spread both his hands for wide. Actually, Ishan Kishan wanted to put pressure on the umpire by appealing to Nitish Reddy to save that ball from wide, but his planning did not work. Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya, standing at the other end with Rickleton, also gestured for Reddy to send the ball wide.

Rickleton completed his century in 44 balls

After Ishan Kishan’s appeal, Ryan Rickleton completed his century on the very next ball. This was Rickleton’s first century in IPL. He completed his century in 44 balls. With this, Rickleton also made a big record for Mumbai Indians. In fact, Rickleton has now become the batsman to score the fastest century in IPL for Mumbai. Earlier this record was in the names of Sanath Jayasuriya and Tilak Verma. Both these batsmen completed their centuries for Mumbai in 45-45 balls.

Mumbai scored 243 runs in 20 overs
