Bihar Cricket Association’s Cricket Operations Manager AK Chandan said that the selectors will keep a close eye on the players who performed well in this tournament. Players should be identified for BCCI’s T-20 tournament

BCA Cricket Operation Manager AK Chandan said that till now T-20 tournament was not being organized in the domestic matches of Bihar Cricket Association. Due to this, there was no solid basis for selecting players for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy or other T20 matches. He said that every format has its own unique nature and in T20, players, especially batsmen, are identified by their strike rate and aggressive play.

Keeping this in mind, the association has decided to create a platform where talented players like Vaibhav Suryavanshi can be identified. With this purpose in mind, domestic T20 tournament is now being started. So that on the basis of its performance, a better team can be easily selected for BCCI’s T-20 matches.

Will there be an auction also?

Answering this question, AK Chandan said that this is not a Premier League. Auctions are often seen in the Premier League. That is why there is no auction like system in this. This is a tournament of inter-district matches. In this, one district will play matches with another district. Players associated with District Association can participate in it. The team will also be formed according to the concerned district. BCA will only keep an eye on the players who perform well in these matches and on the basis of this tournament only the team will be formed for the future T20 matches.

No age limit, open to all

He further said that no age limit has been fixed in this tournament. Players of any age can participate. If the District Association feels that any under-16 player is best for T-20 matches, then they can include him in the team. Similarly, senior category players can also be included. There is no age restriction.
