New Delhi. Reigning UP T20 champions Kashi Rudras have launched the ‘Rudras Cup’, a first-of-its-kind regional scouting tournament organized by any UPT20 franchise. This tournament will be held on 7th and 8th July at JK Loco Railway Stadium, Kanpur. Prior to this announcement, the franchise had successfully conducted the first phase of player trials at the Sigra Stadium in Varanasi, in which over 1,100 young cricketers from across Uttar Pradesh registered to showcase their talent. This overwhelming response once again proves the growing reach and impact of Kashi Rudras’ Grassroots Talent Identification Programme.
Four regional teams representing Varanasi, Prayagraj, Jhansi and Fatehpur will participate in the Rudras Cup. The objective of this tournament is to provide another competitive platform to the players shortlisted in the trials, where they can showcase their talent to the coaching and scouting staff of the franchises ahead of the upcoming UPT20 season.
Mr. Sukhwinder Singh, representative of Kashi Rudras said, “The enthusiastic response that our trials received reflects the passion that the young cricketers of Uttar Pradesh have for the game. The newly launched Rudras Cup is the next step in that journey, which will give these players another opportunity to prove themselves in a competitive environment. We are confident that through this initiative we will find many talented young players who can become a part of the Kashi Rudras family in the future.”
The performance of the players in the Rudras Cup will play an important role in further strengthening the franchise’s squad for the upcoming UPT20 season. Kashi Rudras is the most successful franchise of UPT20, having won the title of Season 1 and Season 3 of the league. Apart from its success on the field, the franchise is also committed to strengthening the cricket ecosystem of Uttar Pradesh and providing meaningful opportunities to young talent through organized scouting and player development programmes. Rudras Cup will be telecast live on Gullyball.
