Ball Tampering Scandal in PSL: Shaheen Afridi said that his team will go to the dressing room and watch the footage to see if the position of the ball was actually changed deliberately. Shaheen said, “I don't know about it, we will see what is on camera and then discuss. Basically, five runs are gone and now we can't do anything.”

New Delhi. Lahore Qalandars' Shaheen Shah Afridi did not give any emotional reaction after his team was awarded a five-run penalty against Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026. This match remained exciting till the last over and came into discussion due to the ball tampering controversy. Qalandars were accused of changing the condition of the ball before the last over of the match. Karachi Kings needed 14 runs from the last six balls but after a five-run penalty the target was reduced to 9 runs.
When Haris Rauf was going to bowl the first ball of the last over, the cameras caught him chatting with captain Shaheen and Fakhar Zaman on the bowler's run-up mark. Umpire Faisal Afridi kept an eye on this conversation and immediately called to check the ball. After this, there was a long conversation between Shaheen and square leg umpire Sharafuddaula and the umpires decided that Qalandars had deliberately changed the position of the ball, due to which Kings were given five penalty runs.
