Ayodhya 84 Kosi Parikrama: There is news from Ram Janmabhoomi Ayodhya that, under the aegis of Hanuman Mandal, the historic 84 Kosi Parikrama has started with preliminary arrangements on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti on 2nd April. But the formal yatra will start from Makhoda Dham on 3rd April. The grand inauguration of this historic parikrama, carried out by Hanuman Mandal Dal of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, has taken place.

This religious padyatra, which started from Karsevak Puram, turned into an ocean of faith with thousands of saints and Ram devotees. A group of saints and sages will leave from Karsevak Puram for Makhauda for parikrama. On this occasion, Ramnagari Ayodhya is once again seen immersed in devotion. The procession that started from Karsevak Puram reached the banks of Saryu, where the devotees started their journey by worshiping as per rituals.

A large number of devotees from different states of the country as well as Nepal have participated in this huge religious event. The parikrama was flagged off by Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya, former minister of Madhya Pradesh and former convenor of Bajrang Dal. This parikrama, which will last for 23 days, will start from 3rd April and end on 24th April. On the concluding day, devotees will circumambulate the Ram temple. This yatra will pass through Ayodhya including Basti, Ambedkar Nagar, Barabanki and Gonda districts.

During the yatra, devotees will have to cross the Saryu river by boat at two places. The next major stop of the parikrama will be Makhauda Dham of Basti, from where the yatra will proceed on April 3 at 6 am.

According to Hanuman Mandal Dal President Surendra Singh, devotees from almost all the states of the country except Tamil Nadu and Kerala have participated in it. Tremendous enthusiasm is being seen among the devotees. Many devotees have been participating in this parikrama for years and consider it their good fortune. He says that this journey gives him spiritual peace and energy.

There is a belief among the people that by doing 84 Kosi Parikrama one gets freedom from the bondage of 84 lakh births. Therefore this religious journey has special religious, spiritual and cultural significance. At the end of this 23-day long padyatra, the devotees will conclude their faith by circumambulating the Ram Janmabhoomi in Ramkot.
