Australia announced team for test series
New Delhi: Australia has announced its team for the two-Test series against Bangladesh. Regular captain Pat Cummins, fast bowler Josh Hazlewood and spinner Nathan Lyon have returned to the team. Australia’s four leading bowlers can again be seen in the playing eleven against Bangladesh. However, except Nathan Lyon, Hazlewood, Cummins and Starc were seen in the Indian Premier League. After IPL, these three players are returning to the team after regaining their fitness.
Fast bowlers Cummins, Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc and off-spinner Lyon have long been a key part of Australia’s attack, but due to injuries, these four bowlers have been able to play together in very few matches in recent times. Australia’s selection committee chairman George Bailey said on Tuesday that all the returning bowlers are ‘fit to play’.
Test series starting from 13th August
He said, “We will not finalize the playing eleven yet, but we know that we have a strong team for this two-Test series. I am confident that in future also these four bowlers will be available to play together.” The first Test match against Bangladesh will be played in Darwin from 13 to 17 August and the second Test match will be played in Mackay from 22 to 26 August. Australia has selected a strong squad against Bangladesh. It is believed that the same team will remain for the Test series against India also. In such a situation, these players will get good practice with Bangladesh before the match against India.
