The state of Assam is facing one of the worst disasters of flood these days. The floods have affected more than 11 lakh people across the state, killing more than 60 people and destroying thousands of houses. In such a situation, many celebs including Bhumi Pednekar to Sonakshi Sinha have come forward and appealed to the people to help the flood victims by posting on social media. Singer Guru Randhawa and actress Rashi Khanna have also appealed for help,
Bhoomi posted for flood-ravaged Assam
Bhumi shared an emotional video on Instagram and asked people not to ignore the ongoing crisis in Assam. He said that the state desperately needs the support of the country, just as people had come together earlier to help other flood-affected areas. In the video, Bhumi said, “Hello friends, we all know what is happening in the country right now, and I salute the passion and courage shown by everyone, but there is one part of the country which needs our immediate attention.”
Describing the seriousness of this disaster, he said, “There has been a terrible flood in Assam. The situation is so bad that more than 7,50,000 people have been evacuated to safer places, more than 40 people have died and the death toll is increasing. Entire villages have been washed away. Cattle have been washed away and everything of the people has been ruined.”
‘This time Assam needs us’
Bhumi said that this crisis is not being given that much attention. He reminded people how earlier also during natural disasters, people from different parts of India had come forward to help. He said, “It is not being talked about much, but I strongly believe that just as last year people from Punjab, Jammu, Bihar, Maharashtra and the rest of the country came together and showed tremendous community service spirit by sending goods and donating, similarly now we need to do the same again. This time Assam needs us.”

The actor also shared the link of donation for ‘Bharat Disaster Relief Fund’ and appealed to the people to contribute as much as they can. The actress wrote, “I am sharing the link of ‘Bharat Disaster Relief Fund’. I worked closely with them during the floods in Jammu and they are a very trustworthy organization. Please support them and donate. Assam is in great need of food items, mattresses, hygiene items and necessary means to take people to safe places.”
She ended her speech by saying, “If you see the pictures of the flood affected areas, your heart will break. It is really heartbreaking and Assam really needs our support. So I request all of you to come forward and donate as much as you can, be it small or big amount. Please spread this message further so that our help can reach the people of Assam. Jai Hind.” While sharing the video, Bhumi wrote, “Assam is drowning, you have supported them every time, this time also come forward for them.”

Guru Randhawa appeals for help to flood victims
Apart from Bhoomi, singer Guru Randhawa has also expressed his support for the people affected by the floods and appealed to the people to stand with Assam in this difficult time. Guru Randhawa shared a picture of the floods in Assam and wrote, “Let us all come together to help the people of Assam. Praying for all the families.”
Sonakshi Sinha and Soha Ali Khan also posted
From Sonakshi Sinha to Soha Ali Khan shared the post on their Insta stories, according to information received from PTI’s source. Sonai shared a red heart broken emoji and posted, “Death toll 66, at least 6.55 lakh people have been affected in 6 districts. The condition of Sivasagar is the worst. 18 thousand 900 people made homeless here have been shifted to 274 relief camps. About 810 villages and 35000 hectares of crops have been submerged.
Soha Ali Khan has also shared the post containing PTI information on her Insta story. It is also written, “Assam is facing serious flood problem due to continuous heavy rains and rising river water level. Everyday life has come to a halt.. Relief work continues.
