There has been a distance in the relationship between actor Raj Babbar’s son and step brother Arya Babbar and Prateik Smita Patil for a long time. Now Arya Babbar has clarified on this matter and said that it was not a joke for her.
Arya Babbar made fun of Prateek Smita Patil
Actually, Arya Babbar had shared a video of her stand-up comedy show on social media, in which she talked about issues like depression and personal struggles. During this, he jokingly mentioned his ‘younger brother’ and said, ‘By younger brother, I do not mean Prateik Babbar.’
After this Arya said, Prateek Smita Patil, because Prateek has now removed the surname ‘Babbar’ from his name and uses the name of his mother Smita Patil. Arya said, ‘What’s happening Smita Maa?’ While sharing the video, he wrote in the caption, ‘No one’s name was changed during the making of this joke.’

After the video went viral, Arya Babbar said in a conversation with Hindustan Times that her stand-up act is based on her battle with depression and is personal. He told that there was a time when he even thought of committing suicide. Arya said, ‘This is the story of that night when I thought of committing suicide, but I survived. The purpose of doing this act is that if today someone is thinking of making such a mistake like me, then maybe I can stop him.
What should Arya say on the issue of ‘Chhota Bhai’?
He said, ‘I was talking about ‘Chhota Bhai’ on the basis of depression. At that time I just said that by ‘Chhota Bhai’ I do not mean Prateek Babbar. Then I remembered that he has changed his name and he says that he should not be called Prateik Babbar. So I immediately corrected myself and said Prateek Smita Patil. The world knows that I always take Smita ji’s name as ‘Smita Maa’, so I said the same. For me it was not a joke, I was just telling one, but the audience saw a humor in it.
Arya Babbar is ready to improve relations
Talking about her bad relationship with Prateek Smita Patil, Arya Babbar said that she is ready to improve the relationship, but for this there should be direct conversation and not through media. He said, ‘Please pick up my phone, I will talk to you.’ He has chosen this method that instead of talking directly to the family, he will talk through the media, then we too are left with no other option.

He further said, ‘I do not agree that Babbar Saheb’s first family should be made villains. After all, why are you being shown as the victim and us being shown as wrong? We respect you, accept you, then why are we called villains?
Let us tell you that Raj Babbar married Nadira Babbar in the year 1975. He has two children from this marriage, Arya Babbar and Juhi Babbar. Later Raj Babbar fell in love with actress Smita Patil. According to reports, he divorced Nadira in 1982 and married Smita Patil a year later.
In the year 1986, Raj Babbar and Smita Patil’s son Prateek was born, Smita Patil died while giving birth to their son.
