Started studies from Saifai, then reached military school
Akhilesh Yadav was born on 1 July 1973 in Saifai of Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh. He is the son of former Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and Malti Devi. He completed his primary education from St. Mary’s School, Etawah, Saifai. After this he was sent to Dholpur Military School in Rajasthan, where he completed his further schooling.
Reached Australia after studying engineering
After completing his school education, Akhilesh Yadav obtained his graduation degree in Civil Environmental Engineering from Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysore, Karnataka. After this he went to Australia for higher education, where he completed a Masters degree in Environmental Engineering from Sydney University. It is said that during his studies, he was more interested in topics related to technology and environment than politics. His intention was to work as an environmental engineer and work on projects related to water pollution and environmental protection. He had also maintained distance from student politics during his student life.

Luck made me a leader, not an engineer.
It is said that Akhilesh Yadav had no specific plans to enter politics, but in 2000, on the insistence of his father Mulayam Singh Yadav, he contested the by-election from Kannauj Lok Sabha seat. This was his first election and he achieved success in reaching Parliament by registering victory. After this, he was elected Lok Sabha member for three consecutive times. Whereas in the 2012 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Samajwadi Party got full majority. After this, Akhilesh Yadav was elected Chief Minister, at that time he was only 38 years old and he became the youngest Chief Minister in the history of Uttar Pradesh. He commanded the state from 2012 to 2017.
