A huge scam exposed during IPL 2026, the matter is related to the match between Hyderabad and Kolkata.

Hyderabad Police has busted the black marketing of tickets going on in the Indian Premier League. Malkajgiri Police Commissioner told through social media that Uppal Police personnel were deployed in the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Kolkata Knight Riders match, who busted the racket involved in black marketing of IPL tickets. Three people have been arrested in this case.

Police issued a statement saying that during the match played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on May 3, 2026, a racket involved in black marketing of IPL match tickets has been caught. Three people were caught red-handed, from whom match tickets were recovered, the value of which was said to be around Rs 22,000.

Police investigation revealed that the accused were obtaining tickets illegally by pretending to be VIPs and VVIPs and selling them at huge profits. This operation was conducted by Malkajgiri Police and three accused were presented in the court on 4 May. Officials say that this entire operation was being monitored on the basis of reliable information.

Many things have been recovered from the accused. A Mahindra Thar car, five IPL tickets, five mobile phones and a fake letterhead were being used for the fraud.

What happened in the match?

On May 3, a match was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders, in which the Hyderabad team came to bat first and could not even play the full 20 overs. The entire SRH team was all out on the score of 169, while Travis Head played a stormy inning of 61 runs in 28 balls. In reply, Kolkata team won that match by 7 wickets with 10 balls remaining. With the help of this victory, KKR had kept its playoff hopes alive.
