PSL 2026 News: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made it clear that the opening matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 will be played in empty stadiums. This decision has been taken in view of the ongoing regional tension and security situation between Iran, America and Israel. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced that despite these challenging circumstances, the tournament will start as scheduled i.e. on March 26, but spectators will not be allowed in the stadium. The matches will be played only in two cities (Karachi and Lahore).

Big decision regarding Pakistan Super League.

New Delhi. Pakistan Cricket Board has decided that the upcoming Pakistan Super League will be played behind closed doors i.e. there will be no entry of spectators on the field. The PCB said on Sunday that the first phase of the PSL will be held without spectators in view of the tension in the region due to the Iran-US-Israel war. PCB has taken this decision due to security concerns after Afghanistan's continuous attacks on Pakistan. Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi said that this season of PSL will be played only in two cities. The matches will be held in Karachi and Lahore. Pakistan Super League is starting from 26th March.

Mohsin Naqvi said, 'PSL is an international brand and our pride. This league will start from March 26 itself, but spectators will not be allowed. PSL CEO Salman Naseer dismissed any security apprehensions regarding organizing PSL in Pakistan. Naqvi said, 'This step has been taken considering the situation in the area. Foreign players are arriving here from tonight.

apologized to fans
Naqvi said, 'I apologize to the fans of Peshawar who were going to get a chance to watch a PSL match for the first time, and I hope that next time they will get to watch more matches.' All franchises will be given financial compensation to compensate for the loss of 'gate money' (income from ticket sales) due to the absence of spectators. A new schedule of PSL will be announced soon, which will include Lahore and Karachi as venues. The supply of fuel is being strictly controlled by the government. Due to this, Peshawar, Multan, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad were removed from the program, so that fuel consumption could be reduced and resources could be saved. The grand opening ceremony has been canceled to save resources.

Warning to those leaving PSL and joining IPL
Mohsin Naqvi has given a strict warning to those foreign players who are leaving PSL midway due to IPL. Naqvi clearly threatened to take legal action against these players. Actually, these players are coming to India instead of going to Pakistan after being selected as 'replacement players' in the IPL. Sri Lankan T20 captain Dasun Shanaka was not bought by anyone in the IPL auction, after which Lahore Qalandars included him in their team in PSL, but now Rajasthan Royals have signed him as a replacement, after which he opted out of PSL.

Zimbabwe's tall fast bowler Muzarabani was to play for Islamabad United in PSL, but Kolkata Knight Riders selected him in place of Mustafizur Rahman and he also preferred IPL. Naqvi said, 'Just look at the players who are coming for PSL this year. Yes, two-three players have left, but we are planning to take legal action against them.
